AHMC Now Providing Digital Mammography

Wednesday, October 3, 2006 – Aventura –The Aventura Breast Diagnostic Center, a department of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, continues its mission to provide the most advanced screening methods available, with the addition of the Selenia Digitial Mammography System from Hologic.

The staff and physicians at The Aventura Breast Diagnostic Center are very excited to be able to offer the newest technology for breast cancer detection, digital mammography,” said Alanna Harris, M.D., Chief of Breast Diagnostics.  “Digital mammography allows radiologists to view the x-ray image closely zeroing in on suspicious or concerning areas, lowers the needs for retakes, reducing radiation exposure and improves sensitivity in younger patients and dense breast.”
